Fundamentally, there is still a place for (well constructed) outsourcing, especially where 'make vs buy' analysis demonstrates an opportunity that would otherwise be inaccessible to an organisation (new skills, technologies, processes or even simply aggregation at times). Of course, the hard work then starts - making it a success; requiring the commitment and alignment of both parties (and realignment throughout the lifecycle where necessary)

I agree that well-constructed outsourcing can be beneficial when 'make vs buy' analysis reveals opportunities.
